Handcrafted in Jaipur

A wooden block. A tray of colour. A steady rhythm repeated across cloth. This is where a Two Paisleys print begins.

Before colour reaches cloth, the motif is carefully carved into wood.

Before the cloth becomes a robe, wash bag or laptop sleeve, it begins with a drawing—and the hands that turn that drawing into a printing block.

Two Paisleys brings together a contemporary London design perspective and Jaipur's hand block printing tradition. We make in small batches, allowing colour, craft and practical design to sit together in pieces intended for gifting, travel and everyday life.

A typical journey

From block to cloth

01 · Draw
The motif is sketched, refined and transferred onto wood.

02 · Carve
A block carver removes the spaces around the motif, leaving the printing surface raised.

03 · Prepare
The cloth is prepared for printing. Its treatment depends on the fabric and design.

04 · Print
The block is charged with colour, aligned by eye and pressed onto the cloth. The movement is repeated across its length.

05 · Layer
Where a design uses several colours, separate blocks build the print layer by layer, with drying between stages where required.

The knowledge sits in the hands: pressure, placement and repetition learned through practice.

Legacy, made useful.

The cloth becomes something to live with: a robe for slow mornings, a wash bag for the next journey, a sleeve carried to work or a gift chosen for someone else. Traditional craft, interpreted with colour and shaped for contemporary life.
